Nabil Richani is a Lebanese artist born in 1960, received his education at the “International School of Choueifat” (SABIS), and holds a Master’s degree in Agriculture/ Floriculture from the American University of Beirut (AUB) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Lebanese University (LU). Richani started his art at a very young age modelling forms from garden soil and painting with crayons improving his skills every day, later producing abstracts in clay and oil on canvas.
Held a few solos and participated in several collective exhibitions with many renowned artists.
Under commission from the “Salwa Rawdah Choukair” foundation, he executed various pieces of the late artist for her recent museum where they are displayed.
Richani also won second prize from the “MACAM” museum in the national competition titled: “The Age of Wood” created by the late collector of art, the critic Cezar Nammour. Nammour in introducing Nabil Richani says: “We are stunned by the persistent search inside mass to convey inner life and the play of light and shadows expressing feelings, animating the inner spaces of his works…”. Art enthusiast and curator, Dr. Tony Karam appreciating Richani’s works stated: “When he uses his tools to sculpt, he brings life to wood, stone, bronze… without his touch, remain obsolete.
